RANDOM TIME RADIO

Zeit. Maß, Zahl und Regel. Rhythmus und Takt. Synchronisation. Doch was, wenn Uhren anders gehen? Wenn sie außer Takt geraten, still stehen, sich aus dem Regime von Zonen- und Weltzeit befreien? Welche Zeit zeigen sie dann? Und wie kommen jene zusammen, die sich – wissentlich oder unwissentlich – an diesen Uhren orientieren? Wäre es denkbar, dass am Ende allein der Zufall zu eben jenem Schlüssel werden kann, der die Eigenzeiten von Zeit zu Zeit synchronisiert?

RANDOM TIME RADIO untersucht diesen Komplex und und macht ihn sich zugleich zueigen. Ausgangspunkt ist eine Recherche vor Ort, in deren Zuge zunächst Uhren und andere Zeitgeber lokalisiert werden, die nicht bzw. nicht mehr mit der Standard-Zeit gehen. Zusammen mit weiteren Zeitgebern, die dem Prinzip des Zufalls verpflichtet sind, speisen sie in den komplexen Mechanismus einer Zeitbeugungsuhr, die ihrerseits das Medium Radio nutzt, um den Hörerinnen und Hörern temporäre Synchronisationen mit den anderen Zeiten zu ermöglichen.

RANDOM TIME RADIO ist ein temporärer Mechanismus der TIME BENDING CLOCK, der im Rahmen des Projekts "Addicted2Random" in Kooperation mit Radio Corax in Halle installiert wird. Die Installation erfolgt auf unbestimmte Zeit.

Time. Measurment, rules and numbers. Rhythm, beat and clock. Synchronization.
But what if clocks are turning in a different way? If they are running out of rhythm, if they are standing still – set free from the ordinary regimes of time?
What kind of hours will the show? And how will those come together who are – with purpose, unwittingly or not – following their course? Can we imagine chance being the very key that will allow to synchronize their time(s), from time to time?

RANDOM TIME RADIO is investigating this complex and at the same time appropriating it. The starting point is a research on site, localizing clocks and other timers that are not or not anymore synchronized with standard time. Together with timers operating on and operated by chance they are feeding the complex mechanism of a time bending clock which in turn is using radio to enable listeners to synchronite with alternate times.

RANDOM TIME RADIO is a temporary mechanism of the TIME BENDING CLOCK. Installed in cooperation with Radio Corax, Halle, as part of the project "Addicted2Random". The installation is running for an indefinite time.
