eine radiokunst-komposition über, von und mit komponisten. einen komponisten und eine komponistin, um genau zu sein. und mithin zwei ganz unterschiedliche gelegenheiten, ausflüge in die jüngere und ältere geschichte der elektroakustischen musik zu unternehmen…

im ersten teil der sendung ist hans schüttler -radiokünstler, -performer und autor auf der new yorker wave farm zu gast.

im anschluss entführt uns TEA FM noch einmal in die wunderbare klangwelt von daphne oram (1923-2003), die mit ihrer "oramics machine" wunderbare elektronische kompositionen schuf.

a radio art composition about, by and with two composers. two bodies of work, two biografies, two contributions to the history of electro-acoustic music, sound and art.

in the first part of the show, radio composer, artist and performer hans schüttler is guest at new york's wave farm:

"German composer Hans Schüttler creates live radio dramas, and was recently in New York City for a workshop and performance at Harvestworks as part of 2013 New York Electronic Art Festival. Hans Tammen from Harvestworks put together this audio tour of Schüttler’s work. It includes excerpts of 'Death of an Underwater Diver' and others. This show was produced for Wave Farm‘s WGXC in New York." [T.R.]

Hans Schüttler produces radio dramas for German public radio WDR, DeutschlandRadio Berlin, NDR, and others. He has produced radio dramas for writers such as Günther Eich and Vladimir Grossman, but also his own productions in various genres. As an audio artist he also created works for theater productions and audio books. Schüttler studied piano with Nicolai Posnjakow, and currently teaches at the Universities of Kassel, Rostock and Halle. As a pianist and composer he worked together with a wide range of artists such as Manos Tsangaris, Dieter Schnebel, Barry Guy, Dror Feiler, Anthony Braxton, Howard Johnson, Jay Oliver, Jimmy Carl Black, Dangaa Khosbayar Hosoo, Ge Suk Yeo, Kuyn Dong Yeo.

afterwards, we are introduced to the wonderful world of sounds created by daphne oram (1923-2003) and her "oramics machine":

"The School of Creative Radio TEA FM from Zaragoza has developed a new radio documentary based on the works and sounds made by Daphne Oram (Dec 31th 1923 – Jan 5th 2003) British composer and electronic musician. She was the creator of the “Oramics” technique for creating electronic sounds. Developed in documentary form, we will cross the sounds created by her “Oramics Machine” and we will talk with people close to her and her work.
In 1959 she installed her Oramics Studios for Electronic Composition in Tower Folly, a converted oast house at Fairseat, near Wrotham, Kent. Her output from the studio, mostly commercial, covered a far wider range than the Radiophonic Workshop, providing background music for not only radio and television but also theatre and short commercial films. She was also commissioned to provide sounds for installations and exhibitions. Other work from this studio included electronic sounds for Jack Clayton’s 1961 horror film The Innocents, concert works including Four Aspects and collaborations with opera composer Thea Musgrave and Ivor Walsworth."
