diesmal lädt radiator x zu einem sound art special mit zwei experimentellen zweikanal-arbeiten, die je auf ihre Weise in eigene sound-dimensionen entführen.

im ersten teil – der als beitrag von radio x in der laufenden woche zugleich im rahmen der radia-rotation von den internationalen partnerstationen gesendet worden ist bzw. wird – gibt es mit "o.t. (zweikanal stück hamburg)" die radio-uraufführung einer sound-arbeit von bernhard schreiner.

den zweiten teil der sendung steuert resonance fm aus london mit einem "experiment in transmitter feedback" von sarah washington und knut aufermann ein, das auf einer fm transmitter-performance während des RadioRevolten-festivals (halle 2006) basiert.

radiator x presents a sound art special with two experimental two channel pieces.

in the first part of the show – radio x' current contribution to the radia art radio rotation being broadcasted by all partner stations – you are listening to "untitled (two channel piece hamburg)" by bernhard schreiner.

untitled (two channel piece hamburg) by bernhard schreiner is based on a sound art piece performed live at Pudel Club Hamburg in June 2007, edited for radiator x/radia art radio network in 2008.

the alternative title in brackets relates to the fact that the two channel piece is kind of special in so far as Schreiner's sound performances and sculptures are usually four channel pieces.

bernhard schreiner (* 1971, A) works with film, video and sound. exploring the materiality of his media, he is creating visual noise/music from 16mm film and builiding sculptural assemblage as well as whole environments based on sound.
from 1991 to 1998 schreiner studied at the Staedelschule Academy Frankfurt am Main (Peter Kubelka). in addition to his own artistic work he is regularly curating projects in the fields of experimental film and sound art, a. o. the Environmental Sound Matter series for Steirischer Herbst & musikprotokoll Graz 2007 and 2008. in 2004, he founded the sound art label feld records (www.feld-records.com). his films are distributed by independent media art distributions like sixpackfilm (www.sixpackfilm.com); for more info see also the Austrian Independent Film and Video Database (filmvideo.at).
currently he lives in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin (Germany).

the second part invites you to enjoy an "experiment in transmitter feedback" by sarah washington and knut aufermann, based upon a fm transmitter-performance staged during the RadioRevolten-festivals (halle 2006).

"During the RadioRevolten festival in 2006 Sarah Washington and Knut Aufermann used two local FM transmitters to create feedback music. RadioRevolten was a month-long festival organised by the new Radia member Radio Corax in Halle (Saale) in Germany. For the duration of the festival Radio Corax was allowed to broadcast on two different frequencies, one frequency carrying much of their ususal programme, and the other being used exclusively for special broadcasts for the festival. Sarah Washington and Knut Aufermann used this duplicated setup to create live radio feedback with both available transmitters, thus performing each on a separate frequency. The listeners in Halle were asked to isten to both frequencies at the same time by using two radios. Here you can hear the combined sounds of both transmitters feeding back in a special edit for the Radia network. " [S.W./K.A.]
