tapenoise + the beautiful schizophonic: radio romantic

in lissabon findet vom 20. bis 28. september 2008 das radiokunst-festival RadiaLx statt. gastgeberin ist die radia.fm partnerstation radio zero – deren einladung zahlreiche internationale radio-aktive künstlerInnen mit aktuellen produktionen sowie ausgewählten perlen aus ihrem schatzkästlein gefolgt sind.

radio x ist in lissabon mit der radiator x-produktion autophones lxtended vertreten – einem radiokonzert, das michael gambacurta und matthias s. krüger basierend auf ihrer komposition autophones entwickelt haben (mehr zu autophones im GUNStprojekt-eintrag).
im austausch sendet radiator x ein RadiaLx Special mit zwei leckereien aus dem festivalprogramm: radiophone kassettenpoesie von tapenoise (UK) und radio romantic von the beautiful schizophonic aka jorge mantas (PT).

fresh radio art from lissabon – where from september 20th to september 28th, 2008 the radio art festival RadiaLx takes place, hosted by our radia.fm partner station radio zero.
numerous radio-active artists followed the invitation to contribute new shows as well as treasures from their personal archives.
radio x takes part with the radiator x production autphones lxtended – a radio concert by michael gambacurta and matthias s. krüger based on their autophones project (for more info about autophones see the GUNStradio-blog on radio x and and the related GUNSTprojects entry).
in exchange radiator x presents a RadiaLx Special with two delicious shows from the festival program:
radiophonic tape poetry by tapenoise (UK) and radio romantic by the beautiful schizophonic aka jorge mantas (PT).

the piece from tapenoise is based on an idea of environment,

"creating an environment through the medium of recording – a mix of disparate elements-conversation, poetry, acoustic instruments, field recordings and sounds made in the studio using outdated equipment such as tape machines and analogue synths. Contributors from TapeNoise are: Ben, Dex and Hugh."

radio romantic fullfills the promise of its title – inviting us into a sounding cosmos haunted by melancholic memories of radio hours lost in time and space, yet carrying us from la recherche du temps perdu to a temps retouvé in the experience of radio.
