1990 hat bill fontana in der haidburger au bei wien mit 16 richtmikrophonen den klängen des waldes nachgelauscht.
diese klänge, die ursprünglich simultan in die wiener innenstadt überttragen wurden, sind in 'virtual nature' zu einer radiophonen meditation in sechzehn stücken geworden.

'virtual nature' wurde 2006 bei radia gesendet.

in der reihe der sound art special stellt GUNSTradiator diesmal zwei herausragende produktionen aus den radia-archiven zum schwerpunkt im:material vor.
dies ist der zweite teil. der erste teil wurde von 14-15 uhr ausgestrahlt.

what do trees hear?

in 1990 bill fontana used 16 microphones installed in the haidburger au near vienna to capture the sounds of the woods.
these sounds were simultaneously transmitted to the center of the city.
for 'virtual nature' they were shifted into a radioponic meditation made of sixteen parts.
