MEDIOLOGIES

Media-Technologies-Cultures -Constellations, Organisations, Configurations

The research foucs MEDIOLOGIES encompasses projects on issues, problems and question of analog, digital and analogial media cultures, media archaeology and media history, media theory and media aesthetics, on past and present media practices in the arts, in popular and everyday culture.
This includes also focus projects dedicated to single media formats and technologies, i.e. print media (books, zines), audio/sound, radio, film, video, computer and internet/WWW.

Thus the title refers not only to mediology as a method according to Gilles Debray's "médiologie". Rather – and, with respect to the considerably broader spectrum of methods and apporaches, necessarily – MEDIOLOGIES in plural should be read more literally as 'media studies'.

Ongoing as well as completed projects (lectures, publications) are devoted to issues and problems listed below – some of the projects are already represented on www.under-construction.cc with their own construction sites.

Please note:
Generally, most of the projects on www.under-construction.cc are one way or the other related to media issues – means, this includes also projects collected in other focus clusters (as well as the focus clusters themselves). However, the list below aims to focus on projects with media issues as a core aspect.
Moreover – as it is the case with the separate collections of lectures and publications at kuniver.se – also the entries at www.under-construction are retrievable by keywords aka tags. Among these are also several tags directly connected to single media and media related aspects (i.e. audio, film, network cultures, radio, sound, sound art, video etc).
More detailed information on projects, lectures and publications within the research focus is being implemented step by step; thank you for your patience!
