MAPPING ECO FUTURES

A Lab Companion

FUTURE ECOLOGIES are more than just green… for better or for worse they will come with many shades… so let’s make sure they are livable for a multitude of beings! MAPPING ECO FUTURES is looking forward, learning from both past and present creative endeavors to fuel our imagination and thus our agency towards FUTURE ECOLOGIES…

MAPPING ECO FUTURES is a companion to NODE's SECOND NATURE LAB, musing about theories and practices of/by artists, designers, thinkers in the field.
Our aim is to gather loose threads from the SECOND NATURE LAB and beyond to explore their entanglements, and to pick up new ones that will lead us into still unknown directions and dimensions of future ecologies.

Brought to you by a small but dedicated team grown from FUTURE ECOLOGIES, a project running at Goethe University’s Institute for Art Education.
AG MAPPING ECO FUTURES: Hannah Heilmann, Verena Kuni, Marie-Louise Meier, Julia Neumann, Julia Schaake, Daniela Sonnabend, Nikolett Trenka, Carla Wiggering.

See also the related seminars starting in Summer 2020, and to be continued in the following terms, as well as related workshops (WORKSHOP:FOREN).
As we have a strong focus on all green, ecology and sustainability with many related projects at Visual Culture Studies for more than a decade anyway, we are also planning in a follow-up to this first phase to continue our work with/in the lab and the companion further on.
