Goethe Lab: URBAN GREEN

Interdisciplinary Student Pupil Lab
Interdisziplinäres Schülerlabor

The success of Goethe Labs – student pupil labs offered by the university's departments of science education in chemistry, physics and biology – has encouraged us to develop a concept for a new set of Goethe Labs that give insight into topics from an interdisciplinary perspective.

After several months of preparation, a first set of pilot labs has been offered during summer term 2014.

The Goethe Lab URBAN GREEN is an interdisciplinary student pupil lab bringing together field research methods and tools from Biolology, Human Geography, Visual Culture and Art.

After the successful launch of the prototype lab "Urban Green – Where Do We Want to Go?" in the framework of Goethe University's "Week of Science" (June 1-7, 2014), the Goethe Lab working group has teamed up to develop the concept for a center fostering the cooperation of all participating disciplines and allowing a more continuous work on and with the interdisciplinary labs on a steady basis.

Meanwhile, each tearm a whole set of labs is being offered – among them the GoetheLab URBAN GREEN.
