"Capture All" lautete das Motto der aktuellen Ausgabe der transmediale, des internationalen Festivals für Kunst und digitale Kultur. Parallel dazu lud wie immer das Schwester-Festival Club Transmediale dazu ein, das Feld der aktuellen Musikproduktion zu erkunden – diesmal mit Fokus auf die physischen, psychischen und emotionalen Wirkungen von Klang. Und wie immer gibt es in der Februar-Sendung von GUNSTradio einen kleinen Bericht…

Wir begnügen uns nicht nur mit einem Stück vom Kuchen – wir wollen die ganze Bäckerei. Das scheint heute jede/r zu sagen (und dabei anders zu meinen als jene, die sich diesen Satz ehedem auf die Fahnen geschrieben hatten), allen voran aber die, die Daten sammeln. Ob Konsumgewohnheiten oder Körpermasse, Kommunikationsadressen oder Kontobewegungen. Immer her damit. Alles das und noch viel mehr. Und es sind längst nicht mehr nur Firmen, Staaten, Geheimdienste, die auf "capture all" optieren. Immer mehr Menschen, die ihrerseits nicht nur fleissig persönliche Daten in diverse Netze speisen, sondern dank freundlicher Helferlein auf dem Smartphone auch selbst Gefallen an der Erhebung finden, folgen demselben Motto bzw. tragen ihr Scherflein zu Big Data bei.

Und die Alternative? Netzstecker raus? Mitunter auch mal, aber so einfach ist es natürlich nicht – und zudem gibt es, wenn's denn schon mal um das Ganze gehen soll, auch noch ganz andere Aspekte, über die es zu reden und nachzudenken lohnt. Anders als die transmediale haben wir nur eine Radiostunde Zeit und versuchen deshalb gar nicht erst ein "capture all". Sondern beginnen erst einmal mit den Basics. Und werfen dann einen Blick auf Projekte, die kreative Vorschläge für altenative Zugänge machen – eben weil es nicht nur darum gehen kann, ein Stück vom Kuchen abzubekommen.

Damit ist der beim tm- und ctm-Besuch reichlich gefüllte Kulturbeutel zwar noch lange nicht ausgeleert – aber im GUNSTradioKIOSK muss ja auch nicht alles auf einmal zur Auslage kommen…

Die Musik zur Sendung ist wiederum vom Thema des Club Transmediale inspiriert – mit einer Auswahl von Stücken, die sich je auf ihre Weise mit den "affects of sound" bzw. dem psychoaktiven Potenzial von Klangmodulationen befassen.

"Capture All" was the motto of this year's transmediale festival for ar and digital culture. And the sister festival Club Transmediale invited us to explore the field of adventureous music – this time focussing on the physcial, psychic and emotional effects of sound. As always, our February issue of GUNSTradio is dedicated to both festivals…

We do not want a piece of the cake – we want the whole bakery. This seems the formula for everybody right now – but it comes with an almost completely different meaning compared to it's original aims. The bakery is about data, the data everybody is collecting, everywhere. Consumer habits, body measures, communication, adresses, bank accounts… Capture all! Not only companies, governments, secret services are collecting them. Almost everybody does. Eagerly. Users are not only uploading data into networks and clouds, but also happily contribute – with the help of some little friends on their smartphones – even the minute details to make Big Data really big.

And what about alternatives? Go offline and live unplugged? Perhaps from time to time – but of course this is not really a solution. Not to mention all the other aspects worth to think about and to discuss in nowadays networked techno-society. But in contrast to the festival we have only one tiny radio hour, and therefore we do not try to "capture all". Rather, we will start with the basics. And look at selected projects that are bringing up creative proposals for alternative access.

Of course this is not all we captured during the tm+ctm festival days – but then there will be future options to bring up more to broadcast in our GUNSTradioKIOSK's display.

The music of this show is inspired by the Club Transmediale theme – with a selection of tracks dealing, in one way or the other, with the "affects of sound" and its psycho-active potentials.
