[english]

rhythms organize time. in life. as well as in music. in our perception. as well as in our imagination. and sometimes these are in turn transformed into radio art.

like in the first part of the show, with roberta WJM andreucci offering a piece from her cutandslice series to us:

"Roberta WJM Andreucci is a percussionist, an experimental producer and DJ, and on air personality. She has more than twenty year of experience organizing and promoting alternative music events. She practices plagiarism and the cutting and mixing of musical and ambiental aural sources. Early in her career she started focusing on the use of voices and on vocal metalinguism, focalizing on her personal practice of “cuttingandslicing” and on rhythm patterns obtained through an improper use of her tools of the trade (cdjs, cd player, md, mics, mixer).
Through the years her percussion set morphed into a hybrid encompassing a dj booth, a radio dj one, a microphone station for electroacustic experiments, and a mnemonic butcher’s slab." [R.P.]

afterwards luke munn transforms two minutes of a brass bell sound into sheer eternity:

"[…] 'the sound of a brass bell tuned to the pitch D, but with an overtone of D-sharp, struck nine times at a brisk tempo, with the final tone allowed to ring until the sound decays naturally. The rhythmic pattern is eight 16th notes and a quarter note; the total duration, from the striking of the first tone to the end of the decay on the final one, is just over 3 seconds.' Owners of Record: NYSE GROUP, INC.
Taking it’s cues from the long-duration film of the same name, this work takes a 2 second audiomark registered by the New York Stock Exchange and slows it drastically to 28 minutes. The opening bell and energetic trader shouts are brought to a standstill and become instead a dirge of white noise and ringing drones which replace motivation with malaise." [L.M.]
