die stunde null. die immer geisterhaft bleiben wird, auch wenn eine atomuhr mit unerbittlicher präzision ihre minuten zählt. doch wer weiss: ist es nicht vielleicht gerade der geist in der maschine, der nicht nur diese stunde, sondern überhaupt das zählen der zeit so unheimlich macht?
in ihrem stück "zero hour" beantwortet die kanadische klang- und radiokünstlerin anna friz diese frage auf ihre weise…

"zero hour" ist ein radio-stück von anna friz, für das sich GUNSTradio nicht nur bei anna friz, sondern auch bei sarah washington und knut aufermann von mobile radio bedankt, die "zero hour" im rahmen ihres radioprojekts für die kunstbiennale sao paulo 2012 erstausgestrahlt haben.

zero hour. a ghost(ly) hour – even when an atomic clock is counting the minutes with minute precision. but who knows: perhaps it's the ghost in the machine making not only this very hour, but the counting of time uncanny indeed?

"Manipulations and machinations of the zero hour, 0:00-0:59:59 on the atomic clock, or 'coordinated universal time'. The subjective experience of time as compared to the industrialization, institutionalization, and ultimately atomization of time across the twentieth century. The radio ticks, tocks, losing time, and sometimes experiencing anxious dreams brought on by the pressure of forecasting and ensuring the arrival of the next minute.
