WALK & WATCH : GO & SEE

Exploring Visual Cultures of Urban Spaces
Project | Project Seminar

WALK & WATCH : GO & SEE ("GEHEN & SEHEN") is a project seminar based on city walks exploring visual culture in urban spaces.

The format refers to a cultural practice with a long tradition in art history used by many artists and artist's groups – most prominently by the Surrealists and by members of the Situationist International who developed techniques and formats like the "dérive" and "psychogepgraphic walks" that more recently saw a renaissance among contemporary artists and urban researchers worldwide.

A more extended project description can be found in the German version of this entry.
