Crystal Growth Clocks

Concepts and Considerations

Crystal growth is not only an indicator of Crystal Time [see ibid.], but can also be considered as a TBC mechanism. As many other TBC mechanisms, also this one may work even when paying not too much attention to it. However, of course it is more active when you get actively involved.

If we can generally, and also when focusing on Crystal Growth as TBC mechanism, differentiate between natural crystal growth and artificial growth, the latter will offer a good framework for active involvement by constructing simple Crystal Growth Clocks.

The process of crystal growth depends – in all relevant variables – on the chemicals involved, and of course the physical parameters involved in the process (i.e. temperature, pressure, space etc). Thus, when thinking of simplicity, we will likely have to focus on a set up that is easy to realize and also to control.

A very simple and easy-to-install Crystal Growth Clock can be set up with a basic set of household devices: All you need is a dish (a saucer, a plate – or, simply for aesthetic reasons, a glass or petri dish), water, and sugar or salt.
Plus (optional): A pot and a heater/oven.

First let the sugar/salt dissolve in the water – for better results in crystal growth you might do this with additional heating, letting the sugar-water/salt-water mixture boil for a moment. In case you want to use no additional receptacle, simply use the dish (otherwise first fill the water in a glass, add the sugar/salt and stir, and then put the solution on the dish). Place the dish somewhere. Wait and see.

Note: Concerning the way the mechanism of Crystal Clocks is related to time, and to the experiencing alternate time(s), it should be added there is a notable difference between Sugar (Crystal) Clocks [see also ibid.] and Salt (Crystal) Clocks, for the former are growing more slowly than the latter.

Plus, even if Sugar (Crystal) Clocks are generally to be considered as simple TBC mechanisms, of course there are also more sophisticated designs.
