wir wollen doch nur spielen.

in der ersten runde gibt es ein radio-ratespiel, das an der schnittstelle von medien- und musikgeschichte operiert: 1956 gewinnt ein jugendlicher in einer italienische tv-quiz show. später wird aus ihm ein bekannter avantgarde-komponist, der mit john cage befreundet ist – und diesem zeigt, wie man bei der tv show gewinnt.
das resonance radio orchester london geht dieser geschichte auf seine weise nach…
in runde zwei geht es dann auf den spielplatz. aber nicht zum bolzen. sondern für ganz spezielle spiele rund um kunst.

yay! we just wanna play…

in the first round we're invited to a quiz game – right at the intersection of media and music history:

"In 1956 the 18 year old Walter Marchetti won an Italian tv quiz show. He went on to become a notable avant-garde composer (notably co-founding ZAJ) and a confirmed friend of John Cage, whom he helped win the same quiz a few years later. This piece attempts to revivify Marchetti's experience, using transcripts of the original television broadcasts. " [E.B.]

"lascia o radoppia" was written by ed baxter and performed by the resonance radio orchstra london in july 2011.
