TAKE CAREPraxtice-Oriented Learning Project The project TAKE CARE is focussing on changes of and within curatorial practices that are interwoven with concepts and practices of care. These practices are not limited to caring for objects and collections, but aim to locate themselves within politics and society, and to care about both the latter: Curating as a social and political practice of care. To do so, we are working on an exhibition for the Schopenhauer Studio – an exhibition room located in the Goethe University's central library (Universitätsbibliothek/Zentralbibliothek). The exhibition will combine a selection of objects from the university's collections with artistic interventions by students as well as an educational program developed by the students. The exhibition concept, the selection of the objects, the creation of the interventions as well as the educational concept will likewise take care of the basic concept of "curating with care", asking for it and hereby also putting it into practice: an empathic, interwoven network of people and objects. The project has been initiated by Nicole Kreckel, it is developed by the team Visuelle Kultur, led by Verena Kuni, together with the Schopenhauer-Studio's team, led by Judith Blume, in cooperation with Nicole Kreckel (Museum für Gegenwartskunst Siegen, Art Education), and students from Goethe University's Institute for Art Education. We thank Goethe University and the State of Hesse for the funding. project: Take Care |
