schatten. werden. schatten. sein. ein zustand im dazwischen, der sich auf unterschiedliche weise produktiv machen lässt.

im ersten teil der sendung lässt uns martin anastasovski aus skopje in eine schattenwelt aus klängen gleiten, die sein alter ego akustisch generiert.

im zweiten teil folgen wir noch einmal in florenz viv corringham, die bei ihren stadtspaziergängen zum schatten anderer menschen wird. .

following shadows. listening (in)to shadows. becoming (a) shadow. being (a) shadow. a liminal position. a liminal state of mind. made productive in different ways…

in the first part of the show, martin anastasovsky from skopje makes us slide into an acoustic shadow world of self and mind:

"[…] please allow me to introduce myself. my name is Kyo […] O T to the E Ch and all you field recorders aint got nothing on me. my mids are non crispy my bass is deflated, in my ghetto foray i got all you wackstaz innundated. f*** all the species, my arc is riggedy, tell von mieses i only got in these crickets with no tickets. the corals are melting but so are my snickers, ghorals lick alkali salts while molten lava turns to basalt rock in a million years. alley cats in skopje city don't let me no sleep coz in the night they prowl the jungle deep, beep bleep i ride on a imaginary jeep while in the meantime human life is getting cheap. the marketplace is bustling with peppers and eggplants, wait until i bust these mushmulla in the cooler, counterfeit goods rock shutka like originals where the sun is beating down on the aboriginals, roma splendor galore tales of lore, lo and behold there is a wedding on a knoll. checking out, but theres no mic it went to record some workers on a strike. and out, but not so fast, the tao changed its mind and its ready for a fight, hold on tight, while you plug in deep, in the sounds of the ground where the slopes are steep and the dogs are belligerent like an action movie that is featuring, obliterating the face of the mind shazam wide open eye self esteem grind in a meat press like no free press get the f*** outa world this is spirits under duress. keep on hold on but dont put a condom on your head bcoz you cant see the glitter of the litter of this hydroponic transmitter." afterwards, we'll follow another time viv corringham on one of her "shadow walks": walking the city by becoming the shadow of other people:

"Shadow-walks (Florence) is the Italian chapter of Viv Corringham’s ongoing project that responds to people’s relationship with familiar places and explores how that bond links to an interior landscape of personal history, memory and association. In Florence she has been walking together with an actress, a street vendor, a graphic designer, a performer and a former school teacher; they took her to the post office, the market, villas closed by walls, the hospital, an occupied house and cafés… she then walked the same routes by herself creating her own rendering through vocal improvisation.

The project involves three main activities: walking with others, listening and singing; it relates with soundscape, the explored places and its inhabitants keeping in mind that knowing where you are is knowing who you are.

Viv Corringham knows how to listen; in fact, this is the common thread that unites her work: vocal virtuosity, composition and improvisation are tools aimed at listening, our listening. Shadow Walk (Florence) is a five-stop walk in search of Florence out of the limelight. Like a game of Chinese boxes, one way of listening opens the door to another: from the street, we enter a bar and then the post office, from the fishmonger we go to the market, we go through the country and sit down in the hospital. Viv Corringham’s work does not mean to be a documentary or sociological, it does not claim to tell any particular ‘stories’, but as it drags us through the daily life of a neighborhood, it illustrates points of view that are unexpected or usually taken for granted."[L.F.]
