"Im Märzen der Bauer…" ("In march, the farmer…", as the old German folk tune used to go…) Instead of the plough, a boat is launched, instead of sowing, nets are spread. The fields, the gardens are submerged in the floods. Only here and there a treetop, a churchtower protude and reflect in the shimmering surface of the water that stretches out calmly, stirred up by the winds by and by. In the depth below, other plants will thrive, as well as animals. Perhaps we will learn to farm and to harvest in different ways. However, for now we continue to float on our raft and look at what has been drowned in the sea…
